Decide what revenue means before building the report

A signed installation contract, an accepted estimate, a completed fence, and a customer payment describe different events. Pick the milestone your decision requires. If you are evaluating sales conversion, record the date the job became sold and its agreed contract value. If you are evaluating cash collection, use payments and their collection dates instead. Give the report a name that makes that distinction obvious.

JobNimbus describes its Insights Sales calculation as using estimates for jobs sold during the specified period, regardless of estimate status. Review the records behind that figure before treating it as booked contract value. Multiple estimates or alternatives need particular attention. Reconcile several jobs against the actual agreement and financial records so a convenient dashboard does not become an inaccurate definition of revenue.

Separate Google Ads from organic and branded inquiries

Create a distinct lead source for paid Google advertising instead of assigning every Google-related inquiry to one bucket. Google Business Profile, unpaid search, a branded paid search, and a non-brand installation campaign can represent different acquisition paths. Keep the categories practical enough that the office can use them, and document how ambiguous phone calls or returning customers should be classified.

A source selected by an employee is a useful operational field, not independent evidence of an ad click. Where possible, pass campaign parameters and supported click identifiers from the inquiry journey into durable records. Ask how the website, phone provider, and CRM connection actually transfer that information. Do not promise keyword-level revenue reporting when the necessary identifiers and relationships were never captured.

Keep attribution attached when the inquiry becomes a job

A contact can be associated with more than one job, and one installation opportunity can generate a form, a call, and several messages. Use stable contact and job identifiers to connect those records without creating several acquisitions. Preserve the original source when an estimator updates the job; an ordinary workflow change should not erase how the opportunity first entered the business.

Decide how repeat work will be handled. A past customer returning for another fence should not silently inherit a new advertising claim just because they clicked an ad while finding your number. Record what you know and keep uncertain attribution visible. A small sample of manually checked records can reveal transfer failures before they affect an entire month of revenue reporting.

Use JobNimbus reporting with its financial definitions

JobNimbus Insights includes Sales by Lead Source, Completed Jobs by Lead Source, and profitability reporting. These views can help compare source performance after the underlying records are consistent. Their existence does not mean every account has complete financial data or that a lead-source field is populated automatically. Check your permissions, configured workflows, and the actual report definitions available in your account.

Inspect raw records for a small set of paid-search jobs. Confirm their source, sold milestone, estimates, invoices, and completion status. A job reaching Completed is not the same as an estimate being sold, and a closed invoice is not an instruction to count another new lead. Use lead tracking and analytics to connect these milestones while keeping each business outcome separate in the report.

Configure offline conversions as a separate workflow

JobNimbus stores contacts, jobs, source fields, and financial milestones. Google Ads receives only the conversion events an explicitly configured import sends successfully. JobNimbus documents Zapier triggers and an Open API; neither establishes a native, automatic Google Ads revenue connection. Verify the exact route, fields, permissions, and diagnostics before relying on it.

Zapier can react to Job Created or Job Modified events, then filter and map data into a separately supported Google Ads action. Its documented Send Offline Conversion action requires a GCLID and an eligible Import from clicks conversion action. Check the connector’s current support and import eligibility; a JobNimbus trigger is not proof that the Google destination supports your intended upload. A custom integration instead retrieves authorized CRM records and implements Google’s ingestion, consent, error handling, and duplicate controls.

For new API implementations, account for the June 15, 2026 restriction on Google Ads API offline click uploads, including enhanced conversions for leads. Google stopped accepting new adopters through UploadClickConversions; its current deprecation guide identifies the prior-usage eligibility window as December 17, 2025 through June 15, 2026. Eligible existing implementations can continue while migrating. Use the Data Manager API for new API workflows rather than assuming a new Google Ads API connection will work.

Google Ads Data Manager workflows import from supported, configured sources; a direct JobNimbus connector must not be assumed. A documented export or intermediary may be needed. The Data Manager API is a developer-built event ingestion route, distinct from choosing a source in the Data Manager interface or using a Zapier action. Enhanced conversions for leads adds permitted first-party customer data to improve matching alongside captured ad identifiers where available. It requires compatible website tagging, account setup, consent handling, and normalized, hashed contact data as specified by the chosen method; it cannot guarantee attribution.

Offline conversion handoff: document these fields before implementation
Record or fieldWhat to preserve and verify
CRM relationshipStable contact and job IDs; original source and inquiry date. A Google source label alone does not prove a paid click.
Matching identifiersCaptured GCLID or another identifier supported by the chosen route; permitted email/phone data for enhanced conversions for leads where configured. Never invent missing IDs.
Destination and milestoneCorrect Google Ads account and conversion action, such as qualified lead or signed contract; exact evidence that the event occurred.
Event timeActual milestone timestamp with the timezone required by the destination, after the relevant ad interaction and within applicable upload/conversion windows. Do not substitute the latest record-edit time.
Value and currencyVerified amount and currency using the action’s documented financial definition. Accepted contract, completed work, and payment are separate milestones.
Event identity and diagnosticsStable job-plus-milestone event key, destination-supported transaction/order ID, export status, errors, and a reconciliation ledger. Request acceptance is not proof of matching.

Prevent repeat uploads and handle changed contracts

A Job Modified trigger runs for ordinary edits as well as meaningful progress. Filter for the first verified transition into the chosen milestone. Use a stable key such as job-123:signed-contract, record its original event time, and keep an export ledger with pending, accepted, rejected, and reconciled states. An address edit, retry, or crew-date change must reuse that identity rather than create another sale.

Use the destination’s supported transaction or order identifier and duplicate rules in addition to your own ledger; do not assume every connector exposes the same fields. Test retries and repeated edits. A later contract-value change is an adjustment to the original event where supported, not a new acquisition. Check the selected route’s adjustment and cancellation capabilities before implementation, preserve the original amount, and do not improvise a negative upload or duplicate positive sale.

Reconcile dates before comparing advertising return

Google Ads normally organizes attributed conversions by the ad interaction date. JobNimbus reports may instead follow when a job was sold or completed. Use the relevant conversion-time columns when reconciling uploaded events, and allow processing time. Identical calendar filters do not guarantee that two platforms are showing the same group of customers or the same business milestone.

For acquisition decisions, examine a lead cohort and give it enough time to progress through estimates and sales. Report current-month sold value separately if the office also needs a production view. Review unmatched records rather than forcing every job into paid search. A useful marketing ROI report explains its source, dates, value definition, and uncertainty instead of presenting a single unsupported return figure.

Validate the pipeline before using revenue for bidding

Run a controlled test using a clearly identified test record and a supported attribution path. Verify the website-to-CRM handoff, job relationship, milestone filter, value, event time, and duplicate protection. Check import diagnostics and reporting rather than treating an HTTP success or a completed Zap as the final result. Avoid recording a fabricated customer sale just to make a dashboard look populated.

After testing, review a sample of real records with authorized access and appropriate privacy controls. Restrict API credentials, minimize exported personal data, and confirm consent requirements for the chosen method. Keep qualified leads and sold jobs as separate conversion actions. Promote an outcome for bidding only when its definition, completeness, and frequency make it reliable enough to guide the campaign.

Put It Into Practice

  • Define sold value, completed revenue, and collected cash separately.
  • Preserve source information and usable attribution identifiers.
  • Connect contacts to jobs and deduplicate milestones.
  • Validate integration acceptance and repeat-update behavior.
  • Reconcile reporting dates before changing campaign decisions.

Common Questions

Does JobNimbus automatically send revenue to Google Ads?

The official documentation reviewed supports lead-source reporting, Zapier triggers, and custom API integrations. Those capabilities do not establish an automatic native sold-job revenue sync. Verify the specific integration in your account and test whether it sends the intended milestone, value, identifiers, and timestamp successfully.

Can I report Google Ads sales without an offline conversion integration?

Yes, you can use consistently assigned CRM lead sources and financial records for an operational sales report. Describe the attribution method and its limitations. That report does not automatically populate Google Ads, prove click-level matching, or give the advertising system a sold-job signal for bidding.

Can old Google Ads lead-source labels recover missing click IDs?

A source label cannot recreate an identifier that was never stored. Some supported enhanced-conversion methods use permitted customer-provided data, but they still require a properly configured implementation and matching eligibility. Keep historical source reporting separate from claims about successful advertising-platform attribution.

Should contract value or collected payments be sent as conversion value?

Choose a documented business outcome that matches your measurement and bidding objective. Sold contract value, completed revenue, and payments have different timing and cancellation risks. Apply one definition consistently, understand adjustment support, and avoid sending each milestone as additional acquisition revenue without explaining the overlap.

Connect the Next Step to Your Business

Start by auditing five paid-search jobs from inquiry to signed agreement and payment. If the source, relationships, or financial definitions break anywhere, repair those records before building more automation. FenceLead can help evaluate the measurement plan and separate qualified inquiries from sold work. Bring your current reports and integration details to a growth consultation so the discussion starts with the actual gaps.
